Thanks for the valuable information.

G711 consumes about  ~80 kbit/sec per channel / one way, you can easily measure this using vnstat -l.

So in your case of 200 channels, you need 80*2*200 = 32 Mbit/sec and if you have 100 Mbit network without other major applications, then network should not be a constraint.

But as was already mentioned many times, it depends of many factors, so difficult to say why the voice is garbled.

Maybe someone with more expertise could advise.

P.S. Just wondering if anybody on this list can tell the maximum number of channels which they managed to achieve on a single server, without compromising the quality?
And what was the server's configuration and codecs used.
