[Freeswitch-dev] Specs for 1000 channels streaming

Hello,

what do you mean "1000 conferencing channels" ? Are these 100 rooms for
10 partecipants for example?

Could you add your production experience in this page if it makes sense?

http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Real-world_results

I'm not sure because afaik a conference implies a transcoding from any
codec to linear audio for the mixing and back to the codec.

Thanks,

Claudio

That's good questions Vitalie. I consider worst case scenario with G711
which really takes much more than advertised 64KB , in fact I feel
goes beyond 100KB. I know it make no sense but sometime I don't' know
if other (DB etc..) traffic is killer here. We might move to gig
bandwidth environment soon so bandwidth shouldn't' be problem.

On my current server (Quad Core 2376 2.3GHz , 4GM RAM) , I start
getting garbled voice ( all kind of delays ) on 200 channels usage and
it's all pcmu.

Did you get a chance to measure the total bandwidth consumed when all
1000 channels are active?

Are there any minor or major voice quality problem?

Thanks
Vitalie
