You may want to check out the sched_api command. You can use it to schedule
future events. You can also use the event socket to control the conference
from an external process - even on a different machine. I highly recommend
the FS bridge book, especially chapters 8-10 which cover a lot of the
advanced things like event socket and conferencing.

Also, look at the API docs for conference:

There a lots and lots of things you can do to the conference as a whole as
well as to individual members.
