Actually Sun Studio doesn't use JRE-Java nor does the jds-cbe.

Its really straightforward and doesn't utilize an integrated graphic
environment
the way some other developement products do with 'Studio' in the name :)

I'm sure you'll have very little problem with this, just install sun studio
on your system
with the instructions for your flavor of [Open]Solaris along with the
jds-cbe and your good to go.
