[Freeswitch-video] Fwd: FreeSWITCH Video Conferencing Blackout issue
by Richard Hsu 02 Nov '17

02 Nov '17

Hi all, [Issue] I am experimenting with the FreeSWITCH version 1.6.2 video calling capability. In particular, we are seeing an issue where sometimes the video element in HTML will start streaming videos just fine, but most of the time, one side of the video call, or both, will have a screen being pitch black. The audio is totally fine though. [Self-diagnosis] Looking into chrome://webrtc-internal, it indicates that there is no frame being sent, and looking into the FreeSWITCH log, it appears this line: "[ERR] switch_rtp.c:8098 Error: video SRTP protection failed with code 10". is always present. I looked into the source code, which corresponds to the switch_rtp.c file, it seems like the "srtp_protect()" function, which transforms/encrypts an RTP packet into SRTP packet, returns an error code. I tried by patching it with the changes here: https://freeswitch.org/jira/br owse/FS-10667, since it seemed like a similar issue, but it didn't work either. I understand there are several ways to go about this: 1) stick a debugger or 2) try out the latest version. [Question] Without other major changes, what else would you recommend me to look at? More importantly, has anyone seen this strange behavior of FreeSWITCH before? I appreciate your effort with FreeSWITCH so far and would love to hear your thoughts! [Freeswitch-video] Screen sharing with verto.js on firefox
by Zach Rothy 02 Nov '16

02 Nov '16

Hi, Recently I started a video conferencing project using Freeswitch 1.6.10 running on Centos 7. I had decided to user mod_verto and its javascript library verto.js to create my own client since the verto communicator demo is just a demo and isn't meant for production. I've got all the basics I needed for, video and audio calls on Firefox and chrome, but when it comes to screen sharing it gets a bit confusing. Like the Verto Communicator demo I have the screen sharing using getScreenId.js and in Google Chrome I have it working. Though when it comes to Firefox, getScreenId returns a different object completely than it will for chrome and it seems if you get a mediaStream object from getUserMedia you can't just blindly drop it in the same way as Chrome. I tried asking on the IRC and HipChat, and the only thing I got back was something about adapter.js on the "latest stuff", though when I checked master on the Freeswitch repo I did not see anything regarding this in the Verto Communicator folder. I was wondering if anyone has successfully gotten Firefox to be able to screen share with verto.js and mod_verto? If so how was it done, and if not are there any ideas or clues of where to start looking myself. Thanks in advance, Zach

[Freeswitch-video] no data flow in a-leg in proxy media mode
by 李峰 27 Jul '16

hi, I am a developer from China my freeswitch(1.5.final version) is set 'proxy media' mode(light proxy mode without rtp header parsing), and the media has no audio but video from an IPC, i 'm succeed on sending video data from IPC to b-leg continuously, but for a-leg, i can't see any video data flow, hope anyone can help, thank you in advance! more info: for developing my project, I made some configurations for freeswitch to let special SDP passthrough fs, and in my case(linphone<--freeswitch<--IPC), there is no audio but video only(which means I have to do some hacking thing on freeswitch to let it runs normally).

[Freeswitch-video] Flag video-required-for-canvas not working for me
by Ahsan Ali Sheikh 31 May '16

Hello, I am using video in mux mode and trying to show people who only have video available or are not vmuted to be displayed on the canvas. Is there any way this is achievable? I have tried the conference flag "*video-required-for-canvas*" in conference.conf.xml but that does not seem to work. Another approach I used was switching canvases for the people who we don't want to see but that ends up leaving empty spaces where they used to be instead of readjusting the video layout. Can anyone please help me out on what approach i should be using? My conference.conf.xml *<profile name="video-mcu-stereo">* * <param name="domain" value="$${domain}"/>* * <param name="rate" value="48000"/>* * <param name="channels" value="2"/>* * <param name="interval" value="20"/>* * <param name="energy-level" value="200"/>* * * * * * <param name="muted-sound" value="conference/conf-muted.wav"/>* * <param name="unmuted-sound" value="conference/conf-unmuted.wav"/>* * <param name="alone-sound" value="conference/conf-alone.wav"/>* * <param name="moh-sound" value="local_stream://stereo"/>* * <param name="enter-sound" value="tone_stream://%(200,0,500,600,700)"/>* * <param name="exit-sound" value="tone_stream://%(500,0,300,200,100,50,25)"/>* * <param name="kicked-sound" value="conference/conf-kicked.wav"/>* * <param name="locked-sound" value="conference/conf-locked.wav"/>* * <param name="is-locked-sound" value="conference/conf-is-locked.wav"/>* * <param name="is-unlocked-sound" value="conference/conf-is-unlocked.wav"/>* * <param name="pin-sound" value="conference/conf-pin.wav"/>* * <param name="bad-pin-sound" value="conference/conf-bad-pin.wav"/>* * <param name="caller-id-name" value="$${outbound_caller_name}"/>* * <param name="caller-id-number" value="$${outbound_caller_id}"/>* * <param name="comfort-noise" value="false"/>* * <param name="conference-flags" value="rfc-4579|livearray-sync|minimize-video-encoding|video-required-for-canvas"/>* * <param name="video-mode" value="mux"/>* * <param name="video-layout-name" value="3x3"/>* * <param name="video-layout-name" value="group:grid"/>* * <param name="video-canvas-size" value="640x480"/>* * <param name="video-canvas-bgcolor" value="#000000"/>* * <param name="video-layout-bgcolor" value="#000000"/>* * <param name="video-codec-bandwidth" value="2mb"/>* * <param name="video-fps" value="13"/>* * <param name="video-no-video-avatar" value="/etc/freeswitch/no-video.png"/>* * <param name="video-canvas-count" value="2"/>* * </profile>* FreeSWITCH Version 1.6.6-13-d2d0b32~64bit (-13-d2d0b32 64bit) Debian 8.0 Thanks, Ahsan Ali

[Freeswitch-video] multi-stream video
by Sasa Ivancev 17 Feb '16

17 Feb '16

Hi, By default, it seems that FreeSWITCH streams only the video from the active speaker. Here https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/mod_conference I found 'video-mode' parameter and tried all allowed values. The 'mux' value allows multiple parties to be showed on the video canvas at the same time, but I need to separate them on client side. Questions: 1. Is it possible to configure FreeSWITCH to send more than one separate video stream (let's say 3 streams from top 3 active speakers) from conference ? 2. In case I use 'mux' value, is it possible to extract each stream and show it in its own video element on client side ? Best regards, Sasa

[Freeswitch-video] Video conferencing mux does not work with more than one participant
by Alexei Kolesnikow 17 Nov '15

Hello everybody, I'm just testing video conferencing (3500, 3000, 888) of FreeSWITCH at conference.freeswitch.org and cantina.freeswitch.org - Unfortunately this does not work as expected. When I call 3500 with Chrome 46.0.2490.86 m (64-bit), the video works only as long as I am alone in the conference. When I call 3500 from another client the video gets unusable (artifacts, video freezes most of the time). My internet connection is pretty good (50Mbit down / 30 Mbit up). The same phenomena I observe when I test video conferencing on my own server (Intel Xeon E5 1650 v3, 64 GB DDR4, Debian 8.2, FreeSWITCH 1.6.2-9~64bit (-9 64bit) installed with apt-get install FreeSWITCH-all and configured like https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/FreeSWITCH+1.6+Video) My question is: Do you have similar problems with video conferencing? If yes: how the guys from the ClueCon Weekly conferences make calls with ~10 participants (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MuxgEb9FMc0)? Thanks Alexei Kolesnikow

[Freeswitch-video] Freeswitch Videoconference mux and mp4 not working
by Enrico Grillo 04 Oct '15

04 Oct '15

Hi everybody, I'm new to freeswitch and I'm experimenting with the 1.6.2 distro installed on a Virtualbox VM with Debian 8.2. I have installed by "apt-get install freeswitch-all". My goal is to set up a private server to handle video conferences with 2-4 participants using PCs (Jitsy), iPad (Polycom) and Verto WebRtc. I have a mandatory requirement to record audio+broadcasted video on an mp4 file. Adding and configuring h26x codec I'm been succesful in doing direct video calls from Polycom to Jitsy and even using the default 3000 video conference room where every participant sees the speaker video. All this calls use video passthru h264. If I try to use the default 3500 room the audio works fine but the broadcasted video is black. I suspect that I have missed some required support for mux/transcode encoding and sending. I have also done some experiments on video recording adding mod-vlc with the aim to obtain mp4 video recordings but I can't figure how to make it work. If I do a video call to the preconfigured 9192 I can record and playback a .fsv video but unfortunately I'm unable to convert it to a standard mp4 file. If I edit default.conf replacing .fsv wuth .mp4 when I call 9192 I don't see any error message (even after log 7) but mod-vlc creates and empty mp4 file. What I' missing? Thank you for any help or hints Enrico Grillo Torino Italy
