Getting an [ERROR] fs_cli.c:1493 main() Error Connecting [Socket Connection Error] after raspberry pi installation
Hi all, I have installed freeswitch on to my raspberry pi by following the instructions at http://tomoconnor.eu/blogish/freeswitch-raspberry-pi/#.UjVmkNS6a00 As far as I know the entire building from source process went flawlessly. I am trying to connect to my freeswitch instance by using fs_cli. When I run fs_cli, I get the following error. [ERROR] fs_cli.c:1493 main() Error Connecting [Socket Connection Error] I have tried searching the list archives. I found the following link but that did not help since I have not changed anything from the defaults. http://lists.freeswitch.org/pipermail/freeswitch-users/2011-February/069764. html I cannot understannd what to look for in the freeswitch log. I have uploaded the log to dropbox. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3688386/fs.log The freeswitch daemon appears to be running is /etc/init.d/freeswitch status is to be believed. Pranav

Hi Brian, I am not sure if I have a clean build. How do I check? Pranav
Clean build basically means are you running against non modified files from a stable point in the repo (preferably master HEAD). See the following; http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Download_%26_Installation_Guide#Upgrading_an... http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Linux_Quick_Install_Guide If you are unsure on either of these, then you'll need to review the following documentation; http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Download_%26_Installation_Guide Hope this helps. Hi all, I tried the steps at http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Download_%26_Installation_Guide#Upgrading_an d_Re-installation When I run freeswitch, I get a different error. 2013-09-21 00:02:35.929536 [CRIT] switch_core_session.c:1713 Thread Failure! The make appears to be clean. Pranav
Hi Pranav, Sorry for the delayed reply, I've been away for a couple of days. I suspect this is something to do with the Raspberry PI causing problems. Have a read of these, this is all I could find; http://www.stus.net/blog/freeswitch-on-raspberry-pi/ http://tomoconnor.eu/blogish/freeswitch-raspberry-pi/ http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r28040013-Equipment-FreeSwitch-Raspberry-Pi-... http://raspberrypipbx.blogspot.co.uk/ Also try running FS with a completely fresh config, to rule out any strange configuration problems. If you are still able to reproduce this problem then best thing to do would be to create a JIRA for this issue, one of the core devs would then give you some instructions on how to debug this further (as I'm not too sure how to enable debugging for thread failures). See here for instructions on reporting to JIRA; http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Reporting_Bugs#Reporting_A_Bug_With_JIRA Hope this helps Cal On Sat, Sep 21, 2013 at 1:09 AM, Pranav Lal <pranav.lal@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi Cal, The page at http://www.stus.net/blog/freeswitch-on-raspberry-pi/ Did the trick. Another fact that helpped was that I reduced the memory alocated to the GPU. I suspect the build process was runnng out of memory. I now have a working freeswitch installation. Many thanks for your help. Pranav
Perfect - glad you were able to get it sorted :) If you have some time, would you mind spending 30 minutes updating the FreeSWITCH wiki to reflect this information? Perhaps add something into the build page [1] about how to compile against raspberry PI, and mention the fixes you put in place. To get edit access to the wiki, just request access using [2]. This would really help us keep the documentation up to date, and help others in the future too - it would be very appreciated. Thanks Cal [1] http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Download_%26_Installation_Guide [2] http://wiki.freeswitch.org/index.php?title=Special:UserLogin&returnto=Downlo...
