Emulate typical house phone/answering machine
Is there a way to configure freeswitch to allow a callee to screen a call by eavesdropping on the caller leaving a voicemail and then, if desired, pick up the handset to accept the call/pull it back from voicemail? This was discussed briefly here in Aug of 2012 but there was no resolution. Anybody have a working example they can share? Thanks, -Terry iPhone says Hello World!
here's how I'd do it: 1. Store the incoming channel ID using db app 2. Have an extension that you dial that reads the channel ID and invokes eavesdrop -OR- have an on-answer hook that originates a call to a phone with auto-answer set (and invokes eavesdrop) for a more traditional behaviour. 3. Use bind keys to bind a key to intercept using the stored ID, forcing voicemail hangup and allowing the recipient to talk. Logically sounds like it should work. I have not tested this though. Thank you Andrew and Brian. Conceptually I get it but I'm still a freeswitch novice so if anyone has a working example or even a starting point they could share that would be much appreciated. I would think that as freeswitch becomes more popular with home users this would be a welcome recipe. In home automation this feature would have what we call high SAF--Spousal Approval Factor. Hi Terry, I agree with you regarding this. I am currently creating a FreeSWITCH GUI and would love to have this feature built into it with a single click. If anyone can help us with a working example, I'll happily include it into RoCKSOLIDPBX as a feature. Richard On 22 June 2014 23:13, Terry Barnum <terry@digital-outpost.com> wrote:

Hi, Has anybody got the actual config files for this? Richard On 21 June 2014 20:26, Andrew Cassidy <andrew@cassidywebservices.co.uk> wrote:
