Manipulating audio streams at sample level
I have a scenario where I'd like to be able to manipulate audio streams coming into FS on a sample level. This is a 3-party SIP call where 2 parties (A and B) are in the same room but using individual handsets. This creates an echo effect for the third party (C) since the audio streams from A and B will arrive at her location slightly out of sync. So at the start of a call I want to examine the audio streams coming from A B as they come into FS to see how out of sync they are, then add an appropriate delay to the one that's ahead and put that delayed audio back into FS. why are they out of sync in the first place? You can't solve echo by adding delay. This needs to be solved in a different way. if someone is being picked up by 2 microphones, your going to get a stereo effect, is that what you mean? if so, you'd want to use microphones that won't pick up the same person twice. Because they are traveling from two different handsets along different paths to the FS server. And we're not in control over that.

Exactly.

This is in BYOD scenario. The users bring what ever handsets they have, so we have no control over the quality of the microphones. We understand that there's a limit to how much we'll be able to clean this audio but we're thinking that some mitigation is better than none. Is what I asked about possible at all with FS?
