Hi All, I am presuming that the Windows version of FreeSWITCH loads all of it's XML files into memory when it starts up and that if the XML file were actually located on another server on the same LAN that that would be OK and wouldn't hinder normal operation? Richard
This is what would take place if you used mod_xml_curl https://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Mod_xml_curl I think that would address your needs. Hi Brian, Thanks for the response. I was thinking of just using the .XML files as they are, as I don't actually need to do anything clever with them, just write to them, I am just thinking about a Windows FreeSWITCH system, with it's .XML files on a shared location which can then be modified by anyone who has direct access to the files? Well you could create a network share possibly and sync the files in every so often or implement everything you need in xml_curl driving it via a database. -- Brian West brian@freeswitch.org FreeSWITCH Solutions, LLC PO BOX 2531 Brookfield, WI 53008-2531 Twitter: @FreeSWITCH , @briankwest http://www.freeswitchbook.com http://www.freeswitchcookbook.com T: +1.918.420.9001 | F: +1.918.420.9002 | M: +1.918.424.WEST iNUM: +883 5100 1420 9001 ISN: 410*543 Skype:briankwest PGP Key: http://www.bkw.org/key.txt (AB93356707C76CED) On Feb 23, 2014, at 2:16 PM, Richard Mace <richard.mace@gmail.com> wrote:

Brian, Thanks. So, under Windows, do the XML files have to live locally within the installation. That is, within the Program Files directory? What is the best practice for storing the XML files within Windows? Richard On 23 February 2014 21:34, Brian West <brian@freeswitch.org> wrote:

I’m not that familiar with windows builds, I home someone else can answer this better than I can, On linux they just need to be on a file system and accessible, I’m not sure otherwise. -- Brian West brian@freeswitch.org FreeSWITCH Solutions, LLC PO BOX 2531 Brookfield, WI 53008-2531 Twitter: @FreeSWITCH , @briankwest http://www.freeswitchbook.com http://www.freeswitchcookbook.com T: +1.918.420.9001 | F: +1.918.420.9002 | M: +1.918.424.WEST iNUM: +883 5100 1420 9001 ISN: 410*543 Skype:briankwest PGP Key: http://www.bkw.org/key.txt (AB93356707C76CED) On Feb 24, 2014, at 12:20 AM, Richard Mace <richard.mace@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi Brian, Thanks, I am just trying to work out how flexible the Windows install can be. Ironically, my app can handle a remote Debian install, just not currently a local Windows version, even though my app runs locally on Windows :) Richard On 24 February 2014 10:17, Brian West <brian@freeswitch.org> wrote:

Hi All, I'm presuming that at least the freeswitch.xml file will need to be modified so that an alternative root directory could be specified? Richard On 24 February 2014 20:42, Richard Mace <richard.mace@gmail.com> wrote:
