Hello, As you know, Google introduced new "Call US/Canada" free from gMail. Is it possible to make outgoing calls from FreeSwitch to USA number using gTalk/gMail? Thank you for help/guidance.
what is the point use to gMail? The backend of Gmail dialing is actually Google Voice. FS can integrate with Google Voice via some java library to make outgoing calls for U.S and Canada.. jesse On Sun, Aug 29, 2010 at 12:22 PM, Malay Thakershi <mthakershi@gmail.com> wrote:

That is what I want to know. How can I integrate Google Voice (or whatever they use to provide free US/Canada calling) to make FS outbound calls? What is that library? On Mon, Aug 30, 2010 at 11:34 PM, jesse <chat2jesse@gmail.com> wrote:

The issue is initial call setup for PSTN access. The control for that is not exposed via gtalk, only through the gmail client. On Mon, Aug 30, 2010 at 11:34 PM, jesse <chat2jesse@gmail.com> wrote:

You know they are not going to let everyone move all their US termination over to googles bill, seems like everyone is all excited to run their call center and not have to pay for calls anymore. Its never going to happen. On Aug 31, 2010, at 10:36 AM, mazilo wrote:

For the record, I was saying that google isn't going to let this happen for long and will put limits in to place at some point or start charging for it. In the mean time, happy free termination. And I have been known to say "that will never happen", and and always happy to be proved wrong. Nice work Tony. Mike On Sep 1, 2010, at 7:05 PM, Anthony Minessale wrote:

The reason gizmo5 works, is it's a faux DID that's tied to a SIP account that you know the credentials for. sipgate.com provides a single US DID(with free incoming) for free per account. You of course then have the SIP credentials for that. I've not tried it(I have a gizmo5 account), but I've seen references to people using it elsewhere. NOTE: This is for inbound use only! Don't try to send your calls out through sipgate, unless you're putting money into that account. -- Andrew Thompson http://aktzero.com/

I did a google search before and saw your java code. However, since my knowledge on FreeSWITCH is pretty limited, let alone JAVA programming, I skipped through because I wouldn't know how to implement such codes on FreeSWITCH. If you can provide a complete dialplan to make your JAVA code to work for Google Voice, that will be cool to implement. ----- don't and stop are the ONLY two 4-letter words considered offensive to men, but not when used together. -- View this message in context: http://freeswitch-users.2379917.n2.nabble.com/gTalk-new-phone-calls-feature-...
