[CRIT] sofia_glue.c:743 No RTP ports available!
Hello all together! I started to operate FreeSwitch with live traffic for the first time yesterday. There is nothing special with my setup beside I used mod_h323. After some hours of operation the termination for all calls failed. In my CDR I find: hangup_cause_q850="27", hangup_cause="DESTINATION_OUT_OF_ORDER", sip_hangup_disposition="send_refuse". In freeswitch.log I find a lot of entries like: 2010-09-13 23:45:59.916855 [DEBUG] switch_core_state_machine.c:338 (sofia/external/9999#24107363687@xx.xx.xx.xx) State INIT 2010-09-13 23:45:59.916855 [DEBUG] mod_sofia.c:83 sofia/external/9999#24107363687@xx.xx.xx SOFIA INIT 2010-09-13 23:45:59.916855 [CRIT] sofia_glue.c:743 No RTP ports available! 2010-09-13 23:45:59.916855 [ERR] sofia_glue.c:1646 Port Error! 2010-09-13 23:45:59.916855 [DEBUG] switch_channel.c:2322 (sofia/external/9999#24107363687@xx.xx.xx) Callstate Change DOWN -> HANGUP and 2010-09-13 23:48:05.038734 [ERR] mod_h323.cpp:2013 h323/12424669543 Unsupported ptime of 2 on write Audio codec G.729{sw} for connection [0x2aaac01d2500] 2010-09-13 23:48:05.038734 [DEBUG] mod_h323.cpp:2017 h323/12424669543 initialise write codec Audio for connection [0x2aaab00e9d18] 2010-09-13 23:48:05.038734 [DEBUG] mod_h323.cpp:2072 Set write Audio codec to G.729{sw} for connection [0x2aaac01d2500] 2010-09-13 23:48:05.038734 [DEBUG] mod_h323.cpp:2078 ------------------->tech_pvt->rtp_session = [(nil)] 2010-09-13 23:48:05.038734 [DEBUG] mod_h323.cpp:2079 ------------------->samples_per_packet = 160 2010-09-13 23:48:05.038734 [DEBUG] mod_h323.cpp:2080 ------------------->actual_samples_per_second = 8000 2010-09-13 23:48:05.038734 [DEBUG] mod_h323.cpp:2127 ------------------------->tech_pvt->rtp_session = (nil) 2010-09-13 23:48:05.038734 [ERR] mod_h323.cpp:2132 AUDIO RTP REPORTS ERROR: [Missing local port] 2010-09-13 23:48:05.038734 [DEBUG] switch_channel.c:2322 (h323/12424669543) Callstate Change DOWN -> HANGUP 2010-09-13 23:48:05.038734 [NOTICE] mod_h323.cpp:2133 Hangup h323/12424669543 [CS_INIT] [DESTINATION_OUT_OF_ORDER] After a restart of FreeSwitch, it is working again. Sounds like the h323 mod isn't releasing RTP ports properly thus you run out. /b On Sep 14, 2010, at 7:17 AM, Jan Riedinger wrote:

Which version of ptlib and h323plus are you using? Afaik the versions recommended by people contributing to mod_h323 are: ptlib 2.8.1 and h323plus from cvs20100525. If you currently do not use these versions perhaps you can try them. Good luck! Regards, Patrick
Well the issue is the FreeSWITCH port allocator ran out of ports so that leads me to think maybe its not releasing them. /b On Sep 14, 2010, at 9:39 AM, Patrick Lists wrote:

I Checked quickly through the code, on SWITCH_SIG_KILL it does a switch_rtp_kill_socket(). However, if the codecs are renegotiated there might be a leek, where rtp_session is set to NULL, but not destroyed first. If you have any debug logs you could send I can take a quick look at it later this evening. /Peter -----Ursprungligt meddelande----- Från: freeswitch-users-bounces@lists.freeswitch.org [mailto:freeswitch-users-bounces@lists.freeswitch.org] För Brian West Skickat: den 14 september 2010 16:47 Till: FreeSWITCH Users Help Ämne: Re: [Freeswitch-users] [CRIT] sofia_glue.c:743 No RTP ports available! Please report this isssue to the Jira tracker It appears to me that switch_rtp_release_port may not be called properly -- View this message in context: http://freeswitch-users.2379917.n2.nabble.com/CRIT-sofia-glue-c-743-No-RTP-p... Sent from the freeswitch-users mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
In mod_h323 the RTP is handled by FS though (not by the H323 lib), so it shouldn't cause these kind of issies - however, it's really recommended to use the mentioned versions. Maybe there might be something wrong with RTP channels not beaing cleaned properly by the mod_h323 module - I've personally just used mod_h323 for lab and testing, so no real call volume. /Peter -----Ursprungligt meddelande----- Från: freeswitch-users-bounces@lists.freeswitch.org [mailto:freeswitch-users-bounces@lists.freeswitch.org] För Patrick Lists Skickat: den 14 september 2010 16:40 Till: FreeSWITCH Users Help Ämne: Re: [Freeswitch-users] [CRIT] sofia_glue.c:743 No RTP ports available! I followed the instruction of the mod_h323 Wiki page, which provided ptlib version 2.9.0 and h323plus version 1.22.0. I'm a little bit frighten to test it with the recommended versions, because I think it isn't too likely that it will fix the issue and I now have live traffic on the switch. Does anybody have some experience with the usage of mod_h323 for more than some test calls? BR Jan Am 14.09.2010 16:39, schrieb Patrick Lists:

I would like to make sure everyone reports issues on jira. /b On Sep 14, 2010, at 10:29 AM, Jan Riedinger wrote:
