What is the difference between <action application="transfer" data="1000"/> and <action application="bridge" data=/sofia/internal/1000%${{domain}"/> ? -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Transfer-Bridge-tp20647162p20647162.html Sent from the Freeswitch-users mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

AFAIK "transfer" means jumping to other dialplan section ("1000" in your case) while "bridge" means generating a new call (leg B) and bridge it with leg A (the caller). -- Iñaki Baz Castillo

But what difference does that make when I call 1000 ? -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Transfer-Bridge-tp20647162p20647880.html Sent from the Freeswitch-users mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

- "transfer" will jump to the dialplan "1000" extension, and that can do anything you have decided in that dialplan. -- Iñaki Baz Castillo

Isn't bridge also executing the dialplan "1000" extension ? -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Transfer-Bridge-tp20647162p20648836.html Sent from the Freeswitch-users mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
I think I see the confusion here. I think the confusion lies in the terminology of the term "transfer" such that he's thinking of the action of transferring a call. Transferring the call would be implemented in the Dialplan via a bridge action. Whereas in Freeswitch Dialplan terminology "Transfer" refers to having the Dialplan "transfer" to a different extension and/or context. henkogema; There is a bit of a learning curve, but believe me it's well worth it.
