Hi Sean I'm sure you've tried this already, but ... [I'm still running an ancient version, but] ISTR fS dying and then having a problem with the "old" pid file hanging around and having permissions problems with that on re-start. Ended up removing the file & starting fS again. [Vaguely recall it was partially my fault as I got the chown permissions wrong, and had problems with the other files as well] Good luck. Why is it always when you're on the road, eh? all the best Lawrence On 9 Sep 2019, at 00:06, Sean Devoy <sdevoy@bizfocused.com> wrote:

Thanks. TeamViewer from Florida to Maryland then SSH to cloud to get past firewall! Freeswitch.log was 77GB mostly write errors to cdr_csv. I deleted it. FS would start then at least, but NO sip traffic. I just rebooted. Fs cli connects fine. Sophia global siptrace on .... nothing. I would look in the logs. Also, one thing you can try is to do the commands by hand and if there is a -nc, take it out of the start of freeswitch, then you can probably tell what happened. On Sun, 08 Sep 2019 19:26:41 -0400, Sean Devoy wrote:

Freeswitch.log was 77GB mostly write errors to cdr_csv. I deleted it. FS would start then at least, but NO sip traffic. I just rebooted.
Fs cli connects fine. Sophia global siptrace on .... nothing. Tried iptables -F
Any other ideas would be great.

Hi Sean I'm sure you've tried this already, but ... [I'm still running an ancient version, but] ISTR fS dying and then having a problem with the "old" pid file hanging around and having permissions problems with that on re-start. Ended up removing the file & starting fS again. [Vaguely recall it was partially my fault as I got the chown permissions wrong, and had problems with the other files as well]
Good luck. Why is it always when you're on the road, eh?

Check the freeswitch logs. It might be at: /var/log/freeswitch or search for a file named freeswitch.log If nothing relevant shows up, try starting freeswitch manually: $ /usr/bin/freeswitch -u freeswitch -g freeswitch -ncwait $DAEMON_OPTS (you should get the value of DAEMON_OPTS from your freeswitch.conf and replace it in the above line).
