Freeswitch Sangoma support for 32 E1 in one server
Hi all I would like to know it is a good idea that we install 32 sangoma E1s in one server with freeswitch ,openzap and run it on production? We expect about 960 concurrent tdm calls to go through from the server. Thanks Imthiyaz Peopletech systems
Just need qty 4 - 8 port cards. /b On Jul 27, 2010, at 11:10 AM, Imthiyaz Ahmed wrote:

Hi Imthiyaz, Project Diastar will soon have support for Freeswitch - we have a working alpha version now. We are able to support that sort of density in a single Diastar server, connected to a Freeswitch client in a separate box. TDM connections are done using Dialogic's DNI boards. It is also possible to use multiple systems - either Diastar or Freeswitch - to distribute the load and allow for redundancy. Please take a look at our website (www.projectdiastar.org<http://www.projectdiastar.org> ) for more info. We do such setups regularly as part of our stress testing with our SS7 and PRI/BRI stacks. Typically a quad-core with 4 A108's. Moises Silva Senior Software Engineer Sangoma Technologies Inc. | NEW 100 Renfrew Drive, Suite 100, Markham ON L3R 9R6 Canada t. 1 905 474 1990 x128 | e. moy@sangoma.com

Not sure about that. You'd have to test and hopefully let us know. You may also purchase a Sangoma PCI transcoding card to offload all transcoding to hardware, up to 480 transcoding sessions (2 legs per session) per card :-) http://wiki.sangoma.com/sangoma-media-transcoding Moises Silva Senior Software Engineer Sangoma Technologies Inc. | NEW 100 Renfrew Drive, Suite 100, Markham ON L3R 9R6 Canada t. 1 905 474 1990 x128 | e. moy@sangoma.com On Wed, Jul 28, 2010 at 11:17 AM, Nyamul Hassan <mnhassan@usa.net> wrote:

Thank you for your answer Moises. There is a minor error in the page that you linked in your email. The first paragraph in http://wiki.sangoma.com/sangoma-media-transcoding#sng_freeswitch_usage mistakenly says "Asterisk" instead of "FreeSWITCH". So, if slots on the motherboard are available, we can have 4xA108 and 2xD100 on one system. Correct? Regards HASSAN On Wed, Jul 28, 2010 at 21:53, Moises Silva <moises.silva@gmail.com> wrote:

Typo fixed, thanks! Yes that is correct, you can put more than one transcoding board on one system. We also have working in our labs a version of the transcoding module which can use transcoding resources from other machines (so if you have a transcoding board in another box in the same LAN you can use those transcoding resources too). Hopefully we will have this module in FreeSWITCH trunk soon! Just out of academic curiosity, if we wanted to offer VAS (value added services) to Telcos, could Sangoma cards be used instead of the other "known brands in this area", like NMS, Audio codes, etc? One important thing that they offer is a robust and well-featured SS7 API. Regards HASSAN On Wed, Jul 28, 2010 at 23:17, Moises Silva <moises.silva@gmail.com> wrote:

Doing this with native FreeSWITCH with Sangoma is 100% doable and they do it all the time in their labs. /b On Jul 27, 2010, at 11:10 AM, Imthiyaz Ahmed wrote:
