Hi, I have a question regarding usage of g729 codec for one of my application. My application dial outs using originate command. My SIP trunk providers supports g729. Do I need a g729 license? Thanks, Raj
the the answer to your question is will freeswitch be the one actively encoding/decoding or transcoding the g729... if the answer is yes to that question then you require g729 licensing Ken Sent from my iPad On Dec 1, 2013, at 9:00, Raj Saini <rajsaini@gmail.com> wrote:

Thanks Ken. I am just originating the call and forwarding it to the SIP trunk provider. I am not sure if it involves any encoding/decoding or transcoding. It seems it does not as I could originate the call with g729 codec successfully. Thanks, Raj On Sunday 01 December 2013 11:30 PM, Ken Rice wrote:

Hi Ken, Sorry, I was wrong in saying that calls are working. Actually FreeSWITCH cancel the call due to "INCOMPATIBLE_DESTINATION" error. I am not sure if originating the call really involves any transcoding or not. Below is the pastebin of complete logs: http://pastebin.com/VXRbRU5x Thanks, Raj On Sunday 01 December 2013 11:30 PM, Ken Rice wrote:

If you originating the call obviously you are generating the audio which means that you need to encode the audio, you can't encode g729 without a license. On Mon, Dec 2, 2013 at 1:45 PM, Raj Saini <rajsaini@gmail.com> wrote:
