Cannot lock pid file /opt/freeswitch/run/freeswitch.pid. We see the above error when attempting to start FreeSwitch on Ubuntu 9.10 server. Has anyone seen this before? Thanks, Ken Fulmer

It looks like a permission problem. Can freeswitch access the path to /what/ever/freeswitch/log/freeswitch.pid -- Russell Mosemann ________________________________________________________ Concordia University, Nebraska See http://www.cune.edu/ for the latest news and events!
There's a file called freeswitch.pid in the path: opt/freeswitch/run/ freeswitch.pid I changed the permissions for the file to read / write / execute. However, I still received the same error. I rebooted the Ubuntu server and the permissions reverted back to the previous setting. Are you sure it isn't started yet?: try to open* freeswitch/bin/fs_cli* instead of *freeswitch/bin/freeswitch* 2010/3/25 Ken Fulmer <kenfulmer@icstechnologysolutions.com>

Sorry guys. I was connected via SSH. I opened fs_cli and everything seems to be working properly. Thanks for your patience! I realized I wasn't entering the command properly. Sorry for the confusion. However, I'm now getting the following error: -bash: /opt/freeswitch/bin/freeswitch: Text file busy Does anyone know why we're seeing that error?
