How about set the caller id in vars.xml: <X-PRE-PROCESS cmd="set" data="outbound_caller_id=0000000000"/> Set it to the most common value and then you only have to do something in bridges and originates that need a CID different from what you set in vars.xml...
I have a number of gateways that require different CIDs. So there is no "most common" value. I have managed to make a proper dialplan but originate is still tedious... I just wonder if there is more clean way (something like caller-id-in-from gateway parameter)
mod_lcr can manipulate your CID on a per route (gateway) basis. It may be overkill for just playing with CID but at some point you are going to want to conditionally route based on rates and ... well, then you already have mod_lcr setup and configured. :) -- -Rupa
