Yes you can do this... Infact there are several public enum services like e164.org that you can query and list your own numbers in... The default confguration examples work this way From: Yogesh Chaturvedi <ychaturvedi@gmail.com> Reply-To: <freeswitch-users@lists.freeswitch.org> Date: Tue, 15 Jan 2008 11:53:45 +0530 To: <freeswitch-users@lists.freeswitch.org> Subject: Re: [Freeswitch-users] EnumLookup in FreeSwitch hi, Thanks for reply , enum is dns based, you tell it the dns server and it will query that server. But i want to know that can we setup the FreeSwich PBX to use the local ISP to do ENUM lookups instead of talking enumserver specific. Ideally, we want all the ENUM looks to go through the DNS servers just like a request for www.microsoft.com <http://www.microsoft.com/> . This would mean that the ISP would cache the results for all its other users. Thanks Yogesh On 1/15/08, Mailing List <mailinglists.1234@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi,
One question how PBXs access the ENUM server ?
The real question is whether a PBX can be setup to use the local ISP to do ENUM lookups or does it need to speak to the ENUM server directly.
