i have the same problem. i am running a FS with the default config 1000 supports only PCMA and 1001 only PCMU (one client is blink, the other jitsi), the call between 1000 and 1001 doesnt work. as soon as i enable the same codecs on both clients, it works without any problem. thanks a lot for your help! best regards, thomas 2014/1/28 Brian West <brian@freeswitch.org>:
This isn't required it will transcode I suspect possibly a misconfig. Can you paste bin another call? -- Brian West brian@freeswitch.org FreeSWITCH Solutions, LLC PO BOX 2531 Brookfield, WI 53008-2531 Twitter: @FreeSWITCH , @briankwest http://www.freeswitchbook.com http://www.freeswitchcookbook.com

Please try "inbound-late-negotiation=false" to negotiate both call legs independently. (see http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Codec_negotiation)
