mod_sms is destined to support SIMPLE messaging(and XMPP), which is part of the SIP protocol stack. Which is something different than what you percieve as messages. The short answer is : if your provider "converts" the sms messages he receives into SIP SIMPLE messages, then you will receive them. If he doesn't, you will need to handle the incoming SMS yourself with either mod_gsmopen or just choose a service that would support incoming SMS and send it to you on some sort of callback(clickatel.com comes off the top of my head). Hello
I have never used FreeSWITCH and I've become interested in it since it has a mod called mod_sms. I'm not clear if it can meet my needs. I want to buy voip DIDs and configure Freeswitch to receive SMS messages. Would this be possible with Freeswitch with mod_sms?
Regards!
