VS2010 express is fine. You should not need to install any additional SDK's As far as I know Express does not support x64 projects which is the warnings you get when you open the solution. You can ignore the warnings. Your build error is caused by the following line: c1 : fatal error C1083: Cannot open source file: 'pcre_chartables.c': No such file or directory This is a generated file by the build system which must have failed??? Did you try the build again?
