I was getting a message like: 2010-03-28 13:46:52.514487 [WARNING] sofia_reg.c:1872 Can't find user [101@192.168.2.51] You must define a domain called '192.168.2.51' in your directory and add a user with the id="101" attribute and you must configure your device to use the proper domain in it's authentication credentials.
But I have no idea how to either correct this problem or set a domain anywhere. There is no mention of domain in the configuration for the Grand Stream and changing the user to 101@192.168.2.51 in the phone and in the config didn't work.
By default, FreeSWITCH uses its own IPv4 address as the domain. On my network, for example, the address of the machine running FreeSWITCH is 192.168.0.2; therefore, by default, it's looking for extension@192.168.0.2, e.g., 1001@192.168.0.2.
Suppose I want to configure my SIP phone to use extension 1001. To do this, I enter 1001 in the user name field and 192.168.0.2 as the "registrar" in the phone's configuration. The phone in this case is from Snom, but there will be similar fields in the configurations of other hardware and software-based phones.
I hope this is enough clarification that you can work out what to do in your own particular scenario.
Thanks and that's how it's set up. My FS is on 192.168.2.51 and the Grand Stream is connecting just fine, however when I attempt to dial extension 101 from a phone it doesn't work. The only connection I can make is by dialing 101@192.168.2.99. I am guessing I have to translate 101 into 101@192.168.2.99 somewhere. I can only dial 101 from a soft phone which makes it somewhat unusable in most cases. Jim.
