Anton,
what do you mean by 20 ports? (20 B channels, 20 pri spans? 20 cards)?
And why is 20 a limiting factor?
Just curious (as it wasn't clear to me).
Thanks

Michael, Thanks for reply.
Yes, I do use SANGOMA TDM cards in my systems - have several types of their TDM and analogue hardware (A200, A102,A104,A108,108D)
Right now my most capable system runs latest asterisk with 20 ports TDM, SS7 and PRI (chan_ss7), though call volume is not too big, and it's almost obvious that asterisk won't be able to carry the full capacity of 20 ports in the single system. Possibly having fresswitch outperforming asterisk "by factor of 10" - is the solution which would be able to carry the necessary capacity. Unfortunatelly with no ss7 support I can't really use freeswitch - but maybe PRI will work. Just some doubts that someone in the mail-list noted that PRI support is also not so good yet too and might not be ready for production.
Any thoughts of asking makers ("dicea" currently and possible "sifira" too) of chan_ss7 to release their channel under compatible license too? SS7 becoming the preferable protocol for telco connectivity more and more and in my country I even can connect to a telco only via SS7.
Sincerely, Anton.

Anton,
My apologies for not responding to your first email. As Brian said, the OpenZAP project is the piece that lets FS do TDM. In addition to the OpenZAP section of the wiki (http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/OpenZAP) here's some quick info: TDM cards from Digium, PIKA, and Sangoma have all been tested with FS, both analog and digital. Pretty much any zaptel-compatible card will work. I personally have been using a tor2 clone. My sample configs are on the wiki, as are some others.
What environment are you in and do you already have any TDM hardware?

Search for OpenZAP, Its a very extensive topic that has been talked about and already works.

So, looks TDM is not interesting topic...

Hello!
It's interesting to have any info on how good would be FS in the TDM switching, including the proper timing and timing propagation among systems? Also many TDM hardware cards allows in-card frame bridging (so no load on CPU than on the switch) - what with support of this? Or FreeSwitch not so supposed yet to be a core of a TDM switch?
Regard, Anton.
