[Freeswitch-users] Is 1.6 the recommended version?

I'm just getting started with FS and installed under Jessie following the instructions here https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/Debian+8+Jessie. This gives med 1.4.23. Is 1.6 preferrable for new installations? Regards Oivvio
