Are you running debian, I have the same problem on debian x64 (already mentioned here http://lists.freeswitch.org/pipermail/freeswitch-users/2010-January/024733.h tml) and cannot fix it. I dont know if its a priviledge problem, as I got the same results running FS with or without u.
