This results from a test in the configure scipt which results in a positive identificate for freeebsd1:
freebsd1*) ld_shlibs=no ;;
Removing the references to freebsd1 causes it to configure a shared-lib build which compiles with no problem,
Thanks to FreeSWITCH devs for FreeBSD compile with no problem.
