I am talking simply about Windows itself. Freeswitch is pretty damn good. Grab a 486 machine with 256Mbyte RAM & try & run XP or Vista :-) I have 2.6Kernel running on VIA processor in less than 12Mbytes. Obviously I only have built the absolute min. but at least I can. Windows is far more inefficient on the same hardware configuration compared to Linux. Can you elaborate more on this please? What is the inefficient bit - thread launch time, memory management cpu usage
You answer might indicate a code problem in the windows build. Thansk, Derek.
Linux will run on just about any platform available.
The compatibility is usually related to specific peripherals. As this is a soft switch & not a PC, it should not pose any problem.

Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone can offer any info with regards to go linux or windows.
From what i gather the freeswitch works on both ... so obious linux is
free
(opensuse i was thinking of.. maybe something better?)
But what about hardware support, i presume windows would have better hardware support?
Any info would be gratefully appreciated
Ian
