Why does this happen in spurts like this? Our policy is to provide a signup script to give unified developer access Jabber account, mailing lists, svn branch etc with a checkbox to indicate if you want to join the mailing list or not. We also provide a tarball for those who do not need these resources. The signup script has a checkbox that asks you if you want to join the mailing list. If you check it then it sends you an email to verify your email address with a magic link that will complete the addition to the mailing list. I don't understand how anyone is accidently getting added to this mailing list. We will run some tests again and make sure everything is fine. But knowingly sending unsubscribe emails is not cool and you know you are doing it to annoy everyone else at try to start flame wars, please do not do it anymore. If you don't want to be on the list then we do not want you on the list either we are in no way trying to spam you. If you really found yourself here by mistake The url below will wipe you completely from our system in all respects. http://www.freeswitch.org/remove.cgi If you want to make sure you are off our list join our irc channel and we will confirm with you in real time if you are still on the list. irc.freenode.net #freeswitch Anthony Minessale II FreeSWITCH http://www.freeswitch.org/ ClueCon http://www.cluecon.com/ AIM: anthm MSN:anthony_minessale@hotmail.com JABBER:anthony.minessale@gmail.com FreeSWITCH Developer Conference sip:888@66.250.68.194 iax:guest@66.250.68.194/888 googletalk:freeswitch@gmail.com pstn:712-432-7800 ----- Original Message ---- From: Michael Workman <mworkman@imbroadcasting.net> To: freeswitch-dev@lists.freeswitch.org Sent: Saturday, November 4, 2006 8:34:52 PM Subject: Re: [Freeswitch-dev] Spam:Re: Spam:Re: REMOVE My Two Cents.... I know you apologized for what you said already, but you have to expect some response not only from other users and/or mods, but from the person you flamed. To be honest, I see you as the troller, jumping from one OSP to another, but that doesn't bother me in the least. As I said, you're young and probably feel you still need to prove yourself, but please do yourself a favor, don't try that with me. It doesn't matter about mail clients only because you apparently have not read what I said. I won't repeat myself but you can (since you have a good mail client) read back what I wrote about different IAUP's and even consult CTL's ISP IAUP and see that I only state fact. Unnecessary use of bandwidht, mail services and excessive emails that are unwarranted are a clear violation of any IAUP in the country that you are in and the country that FS services are hosted. With that said, please don't flame those you don't know because they may know you and it may not be the smartest move for any person trying to develop their brilliant career path. Gabriel

Gabriel,
A good mail client (e.g. gmail, emacs, opera) can manage your mailing list data pretty well. Also, there is nothing impolite about mailing lists. I find it much more efficient to have all my mailing lists in my mail so I don't have to be constantly visiting several forums.
Please go troll another open source project.

Why not use a forum instead of a mailing list? Mailing lists should not send EACH message in a new email. Also mailing lists usually work as a digest, sending a summary of the day's messages.
Sending each individual message not only wastes the bandwidth of the available listserv, but the bandwidth of the subscribers as well.
Please consider a forum that would be much more efficient and polite.

The remove.cgi removes you totally from our system.. The unsubscribes are processed at least once a day around here. Sorry if their was any confusion. If you're going to use or interact with us and the other freeswitch users its important to be on the mailing lists. remove.cgi will remove your name, email and svn access totally from our system.
Thanks, Brian PS: btw mailman sucks at this stuff.

I know what it said. It doesn't build much confidence in your app if you can't handle a simple unsubscribe request.

Unsubscribing clearly does not work. I have done so hours ago and here I am replying to you all.

I have tried that a few times, and I still get this!
