[Freeswitch-users] phrases with parameter # are no longer working

I am not sure when this started, but when a # parameter is encountered
in a phrase
I get the following in the log
2020-07-08 20:37:13.270216 [ERR] switch_ivr_play_say.c:292 Invalid SAY
Interface [en]! .

How can I fix this -- it used to work, not sure when, however.  I am
using v 1.10.3.
