What Michael Said.. with notes.. multicast is one of the ways you can access events, but probably not the one you want, and it has nothing at all to do with xmpp. How you want to interact with FreeSWITCH is a much bigger discussion. How would you like to signal this information? There is a sip standard for this as well, rfc4579. You can enable this in conference with the flag, and this would require you to have a sip device that supports this as well.
