Two things, in both cases the last message in the log was
2014-05-14 15:58:04.364479 [DEBUG] switch_core_state_machine.c:433 (sofia/internal/nobody at 54.197.142.202<mailto:sofia/internal/nobody at 54.197.142.202>) State NEW

So kind of a conincidence that this message was the last to be received before the crash.

2nd, Core dumps were generated, they are very large files, about 40m. I did run gdb and got the following analysis, should I purse opening a Jira Ticket

Core was generated by `/usr/local/freeswitch/bin/freeswitch -nc'.
Program terminated with signal 11, Segmentation fault.

What messages? If it's a particular SIP packet collect a packet trace and create a Jira with them attached.

The log messages written to disk aren't necessarily the last ones logged. The messages go through a queue and therefore during a crash can be lost between being generated and being written to disk.

If FreeSWITCH is crashing I suggest you get a coredump and attach a backtrace to the Jira ticket.

See https://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Reporting_Bugs - particularly https://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Reporting_Bugs#Creating_A_Backtrace_With_gdb_.28Linux.2FUnix.29

Twice today I have got these messages which crashed the system, they were the final messages received before the restart, our software does block them after a few attempts, but it crashed before it gets blocked.
