[Freeswitch-users] Encrypted RFC2833 DTMF

The only mention of a HNC encryption I can find is this in an entry on
google books (http://lmgtfy.com/?q=hnc+encryption)
"HNC: A series of proprietary and undocumented encryption algorithms
developed by the HNC Network (www.hack-net.com), HNC is designed to create
access codes for software package distributions".
Assuming it's the same HNC...
1) It's proprietary/undocumented. Completely non-standard and unlikely to
ever be supported by other software.
2) It sounds like its not even designed for this type if usage, which
concerns me
3) I always regard any nonstandard encryption with sceptism. Usually
they're not as secure as the designers believe.
Anyway long and short of it is its not standard and probably vendor
specific (I found a mention huawei might use it?) I don't think you'll get
it to work with fs or almost anything else, and if encrypted DTMF is needed
then the standard SRTP would be a far better way to achieve it.
