Another way of saying this is that mod_dptools adds most (but not all) of
the dialplan applications that you would typically use. However, other
modules also load dialplan applications. When FreeSWITCH says "invalid
application" that means "none of the loaded modules have a dialplan
application by this name." It's too wordy to put all that in the logs.
The same goes for commands that you type at the console/fs_cli. The module
mod_commands exposes most, but not all, of the API commands you would use.
Again, if you see "invalid command" then it's just like "invalid
application" and you need to figure out which module to load.
A few modules that load dialplan apps and/or API commands:
mod_spandsp
mod_voicemail
mod_conference
mod_valet_parking
