Everything works ok and i'm impressed by its stability and performance ! But i'm unable to get a 'final' termination cause for the calls as i'm used to get with asterisk: i'd like to have something like 'answered', 'cancel', 'busy', 'congestion', 'chanunavail', and so on so i'm writing last_bridge_hangup_cause, bridge_hangup_cause and hangup_cause in my cdr and in particular when the call goes thru the second or third trunk (when using failover) i get 'NORMAL_TEMPORARY_FAILURE', 'NORMAL_TEMPORARY_FAILURE', 'NORMAL_CLEARING' and i don't know which one of the three is the actual termination cause :) what are you guys using to get 'consistent' tc ? I am doing some things in the dialplan after the bridge, like playing audio depending on the hang-up cause, but also some logging of call timings after the bridge. see: https://github.com/Rhizomatica/rccn/blob/master/rccn/context.py#L258 I was surprised to see that code running when I set bypass_media_after_bridge on the channel, but maybe my logic is wrong here, and I should just return after session.execute('bridge') when originate_disposition is SUCCESS and handle the logging in the hangup hook? All the same, I was wondering if there was any way to not have the bridge return after media is bypassed? I've scoured the docs and had a look through the source code and I think the answer is no, but I thought I'd ask. I'm also interested as to the logic of why then the bridge function does not return on SUCCESS if one is not bypassing media. Thanks! Keith. What are you writing the dialplans in? Are you doing billing in a hangup hook? I've noticed that when I bridge to two EPs, right after the bridge, (in my python dialplan) last_bridge_hangup_cause has the hup  cause of the first EP, (that failed) while in the hangup hook, last_bridge_hangup_cause has the "correct" value, that is to say, the one from the EP that connected. General scenario is latest FS V1.8 registering to Oracle SBC via gateway with register-transport TLS, and then trying to send / receive some calls. Issue I observe is as following: Registration goes well, as well as outbound call is established (from FS to Oracle). So far FS is always an SSL "Client" and SBC is always an SSL "Server". So TCP connection is between an ephemeral port e.g 57647 on FS side and 5061 on SBC side. However, when SBC sends a BYE to FS, it does so in a brand new TCP socket going from a high range port on SBC side e.g. 27696 and 5061 on FS side. In this new connection SBC tries to be an SSL client and expect FS to act as SSL server. FS ignores it completely (nothing in debug log or in sofia sip trace). My presumption is that it's incorrect, and that everything should go back to the port that REGISTER / INVITE came from. I thinks SBC does so because of FS contact header not matching the  actual TCP connection. I'm trying to figure out FS guilt in this, as I suspect it happens because of the way FS sets Contact header port on the outbound REGISTER and INVITE: Contact: :5061;tport=tcp;transport=tls;gw=test> I suspect that 5061 is not the right port given FS is actually using ephemeral port for this registration. Is this a bug I should report, or a configuration I can change, or normal? How can I force FS to put it's actual ephemeral port? So that it looks something like this: Contact: :57647;tport=tcp;transport=tls;gw=test> Below is just an illustration of two TCP connections that end-up being created on a single outbound call. FreeSWITCH - initiated REGISTER, INVITE, 100 Trying, 200 OK etc: 11:05:53.303006 IP .57647 > .5061 11:05:53.408646 IP .5061 > .57647 11:05:53.408745 IP .57647 > .5061 11:05:54.242105 IP .57647 > .5061 11:05:54.242307 IP .57647 > .5061 11:05:54.309673 IP .5061 > .57647 11:05:54.309767 IP .57647 > .5061 11:05:54.393547 IP .5061 > .57647 11:05:54.393584 IP .57647 > .5061 11:05:54.394273 IP .57647 > .5061 11:05:54.395283 IP .57647 > .5061 11:05:54.395430 IP .57647 > .5061 11:05:54.395500 IP .57647 > .5061 11:05:54.463197 IP .5061 > .57647 11:05:54.511325 IP .57647 > .5061 11:05:57.283340 IP .5061 > .57647 11:05:57.283498 IP .57647 > .5061 11:06:02.904345 IP .5061 > .57647 11:06:02.904391 IP .57647 > .5061 11:06:02.918036 IP .57647 > .5061 11:06:03.085751 IP .5061 > .57647 Far-end (SBC) initiated "BYE". I have managed to install them under Lua5.1, but AIUI, Lua5.2 is the way to go. For lua 5.1, I did: apt-get install -y lua5.1 lua5.1-dev luarocks luarocks install luaxml luarocks install luacurl CURL_INCDIR=/usr/include/x86_64-linux-gnu And that works for commandline lua, but the lua built in to Freeswitch seems to be 5.2. If I try using Luarocks to install luaxml and luacurl, I get problems suggesting that these modules aren't suitable. Should I try to recompile Freeswitch to use Lua5.1? If so, where are the instructions? Thanks! -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... I am making the assumption that having a "user id" of freeswitchuser1001 at example.com is better than 1001 since the fraudsters would automatically try extensions but are less likely to know a complicated username? Would that logic only hold true if I am using TLS? If this is correct, and I use the "number-alias" to link the "user id" and user's extension, what would I have to use in the BLF field of the phone. Also, in the documentation there is a warning about using "number-alias" with mod_xml_curl. When will this be an issue and should I consider a different approach? (no sure if I can ask this last question here - should I be asking the Kamailio crowd) I have considered using Kamailio to do the authentication and then re-write the SIP request to only include extension when it gets passed to Freeswitch but don't understand the BLF mechanism and how that would then work. Would it be better for Kamailio to manage the BLF functionality? All help greatly appreciated. Petarr -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Would you recommend some steps on how I could troubleshoot this further? The error message is too generic. What I did so far: 0. Server reboot, call to server connects, Lua script works as intended, but fails at the DB part. 1. Checked the database on the remote server, it works fine. 2. Checked whether port is still open on remote server from the freeswitch server with `nc -zv 1.2.3.4 5432` and it is. Thank you for any suggestions! That lua script is written to execute the lua API to interact with freeswitch in that case, for clarity, in future, you want to write: "I am executing a lua script" If a lua script is started from dialplan, it always has a session object, until the call is hangup the other case: if a lua script is started from the command line (eg, from the freeswitch API) it never has a session object, you must create it getting the uuid of the call from the freeswitch API (or because you know in advance the call uuid because you originated that call giving the uuid as parameter). In my development environment, a server with both ipv4 and ipv6 address is ready. Server Info: Debian stretch 9.9 FreeSWITCH Version 1.8.7+git~20190702T200609Z~6047ebddfc~64bit (git 6047ebd 2019-07-02 20:06:09Z 64bit) Also, profile external-ipv6 and internal-ipv6 for freeswitch had also enabled. In addition, a pure-ipv6 network(no NAT64) is also ready for test. As the test result, clients could access to server via ipv6-only network for registration(sip package showed in server with siptrack), but failed to make calls in same network. Freeswitch log showed a failure in originate, which returned an 606 USER NOT REGISTERED. Both clients was showed in “show registrations” with correct ipv6 address, but Sofia couldn’t get contact string(got 606 in sofia_contact). Is there any additional settings need for Sofia to enable ipv6 support? Any suggestion would be appreciated. Regards. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... I had IPV6 working fine with calls in and out, but had to go back to IPV4. I use MWI to signal a VM message on multiple phones and that does not work for IPV6, see FS-9430 , FS-9428 and FS-10683 (I need to update soon) which are still outstanding. So I had to finally give up and go back to IPV4. I had some other things not work right with IPV6 but it’s been a while and can’t remember them. But MWI was the killer for me. I am looking for something SIP based resource add to conference. I see that Freeswitch documentation says It supports RFC 4579, But will it support adding member to conference by REFER messages(5.5 section in RFC 4579) ? I saw many Tickets around this area but nothing clearly answers my question. Few example links: https://freeswitch.org/jira/browse/FS-7259 https://freeswitch.org/jira/si/jira.issueviews:issue-html/FS-5611/FS-5611.html https://lists.freeswitch.org/pipermail/freeswitch-users/2016-August/121795.html *Scenario I tried :* When I try to REFER a member to conference, Freeswitch trigger the outbound call but it treats it as blind transfer and kicks out the party which sends refer message. I want freeswitch just to include the referred member but not kick out the party which sent refer. and be in conference call. ==================================================================================================== There are 2 members in conference. one member is dialed through gw. that member is trying to add another client which is sip:service at 172.29.0.3. Freeswitch triggers the Invite to Refer-To member but it sends BYE to Referred-By member.
