[Freeswitch-users] Campon busy for external calls

Has anyone come up with a way of providing ‘camp-on busy’ for outgoing external calls? It’s often referred to as ‘Ring Back’ in the UK, (not to be confused with the artificial ring tone), so that a user can press a button on receiving the busy signal, and the call will ring the originator when the called line becomes available, and then connected to the called number when they pick up.

We’re looking into it following a customer request, and it’s looking like it’s not well supported across providers, so wondering about doing something programatically. Eg attempt the call every minute in the background, until either the line becomes free, or a timeout (an hour or so) occurs.

It will take me a while to figure out how to do this, so don’t want to reinvent the wheel if this has been achieved already!?
