[Freeswitch-users] Username with @ in it

This is nothing new in FreeSWITCH…. The directory has always been multi-tenant by default… the domain/realm has always been used for breaking these things down so that bob at domainA.com <mailto:bob at domainA.com> != bob at domainB.com <mailto:bob at domainB.com> in the example configs we actually had to disable this because people just couldn’t wrap their head around it and there is a setting for forcing the domain on the sofia profiles… the user directory in FreeSWITCH has supported this from day one.

All you have to do is create the proper domains in the Directory (and proper domain handling in your dialplan) and it works just like any other URI based routing service be it email xmpp sip or whatever.

I may think he is not explaining himself.

He might want a multi tenant system, where users can use their email. In this example, its clear he doesn't own Gmail.com. PBX should have Gmail.com tenant, and inside it johnsmith user.

Your endpoint should split user and domain, and you should hard code your PBX ip as a proxy.

But what if my username is like user at domain?

Like my username is JohnSmith at gmail.com <mailto:JohnSmith at gmail.com> and I’m registered at sipProvider.com domain?

Would be my R-URI string correct like

INVITE JohnSmith at gmail.com@sipProvider.com <mailto:JohnSmith at gmail.com@sipProvider.com>

?

You cant have 2 @ signs in a URI… that’s violating the specifications…

In FreeSWITCH if you want to send it to a proxy see fs_path… example <action application=”bridge” data=”sofia/profile/someuser at somedom.com;fs_path=the.proxy <mailto:sofia/profile/someuser at somedom.com;fs_path=the.proxy> ”/>

Hi!

My users want to use usernames in their phones e-mail-type style. Like username at domain.

With FS it works ok. The only problem I’ve faced - it’s when you route this call via proxy like OpenSIPS or Kamailio. Actual problem, when you bridge user at proxy, your URI becomes like

username at domain@proxy.

So, This RURI is dropped by proxy with reason «cannot be parsed» or so. Actually, they are right,

Is there any way of avoid to use two @ in URI?

FS 1.6.9
