[Freeswitch-users] tar ball vs git clone

I have noticed when I downloaded FS 1.4.4 tar ball, that is comes with
binary and intermetidate files already compiled.

It don't have bootstrap.sh - but rebootstrap.sh instead.

Should I use the tar ball or git clone? And if I should use git clone how I
get a specific version such as 1.4.4
