[Freeswitch-users] mkdir not working

Hi there
we try to create a new directory
  $con->execute("mkdir", "$vmail_base");
to store some Voice mail files

But for some reason FS is not even trying to create the directory
we checked the user rights
the spelling
but still nothing not even in the linux logs we can not see that FS is 
trying it atall.

Any suggestions??
what is going wrong?
Please let me know if you have a solution or workaround.
