[Freeswitch-users] Skype is likely to stop supporting desktop API by Dec. 2013

I agree with Steven.

My take on this is:

- the future new versions of the Skype client will not have the feature of
being "remote controllable" via the API

* On Linux we use an old version, actually more than 4 years old, and there
is not a way to force an update of it (it is "manually" downloaded and then
installed as binary .tgz by the install.pl script).

* On Windows, if users have installed an autoupdating version of Skype
client, then maybe the update can be forced.

For what is my understanding and feeling, skype module is used almost only
on Linux.

So, I believe this will have no impact on Freeswitch.

Only thing that can impact the module on Linux is if Skype will change
basic protocol (basic voice and IM features) or encoding.
