[Freeswitch-users] Is FreeSwitch run on Windows 2008 R2 64?

Hi Peter,

I've finally got rid of all error mesages by disable the related modules. However, there still no progress. I used wireshark to debug the incomming traffic and I can see error messages send from the remote host said that " 590 ICMP Destination unreachable (Port unreachable)". I have turned off the windows 2008 firewall to make sure that no port is blocked but the error still the same. Am I missing something?

I don't know exactly what it is (never used it) - but it's safe to comment this out as well.

Just found another error that similar to those below but this is for mod_cluechoo.dll. What is the function of this module?

Hi Peter,

How can I disable these? I couldn't find them in the modules.conf.xml

You can disable them in modules.conf.xml - those modules doesn't build by default on Windows (and I'm not sure they even build at all on Windows). Anyway - it's just info in the log, it doesn't cause any problems.

If FreeSWITCH is running, I can't find another reason then a software/hardware firewall blocking the traffic. Maybe you have an antivirus with another firewall inside. Also, make sure that the Windows service for the firewall is not disabled - since that will block all traffic in 2008 R2. You can easily test the connection from another computer by telneting to the IP of the server on port 5060, it should let you connect.

The most common problem is the built in Windows firewall that blocks the traffic.

Is the only problem that it reports loading errors for a couple of modules? FS should run just fine on any Windows platform, at least from XP and above.

But it might be that it tries to load a module, that was not built into the MSI - but that's just an error in the log, FS should start just fine anyway.

Hi,

I am trying to load freeswitch on to Windows 2008 R2 64 bit server but so far I can not get any windows versions of freeswitch to work on this os (latest 32 bits and 64 bits version from freeswitch web site). It give error message saying that it could not load the ..v8.dll and another dll file within the switch_loadable_module.c. Is Freeswitch not compatible to win2008R2 or am I missing something?

Cheers,

Albert
