Thast because v1.2.0 is not a branch its a tag on the v1.2.stable branch...

Just git clone freeswitch as normal, then git checkout TAG_NAME

Not sure why you would want 1.2.0 tho... There are major issues in that
release and it is not recommended for production due to security issues
