I think, is it in the right place, and exist:

[root at lambda autoload_configs]# ls -l rad_auth.conf.xml
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2694 Aug 26 00:37 rad_auth.conf.xml

trying with default rad_auth.conf.xml, with changed "authserver" value
only...
