Yes you are correct.  The Bria Softphone has a setting under
ContactProfile/Advanced.../Account menu which is required to be the
softphone's extension (not blank and not the extension that is being
subscribed to).  After I set this field to the softphone's extension, FS
starting reporting the the contact's presence status.

try turning on sip debug and console loglevel debug

sofia loglevel all 9
console loglevel debug

Did you try manually running the same sql stmts from the sqlite3 app?
maybe you have something misconfigured.
