Hi guys, I understand that in a conference FS always performs transcoding to mix the multiple channels together even if all the users use the same codecs. My question is - is it also true for a conference with only two users or does FS detect a conference with only two users with the same codecs and optimize it to not transcode? Thank you *Oleg*
It doesn't matter how many users are in conference. FS needs to transcode to play voice prompts etc. On Thursday 13 June 2013 14:28:31 Oleg Stolyar wrote:

Makes sense, thanks Sergey! Does anyone know how much more CPU a two-way conference uses compared to a bridge? Thank you *Oleg* On Thu, Jun 13, 2013 at 2:43 PM, Sergey Okhapkin <sos@sokhapkin.dyndns.org>wrote:

That would depend on the codec, how many users are mute/deaf and anything else being played to the conference, plus similar questions of the bridge. -Steve On Friday, June 14, 2013, Oleg Stolyar wrote:

Thanks Steven, let me be more specific: 2 users both using PCMU codec, neither on mute. Thank you *Oleg* On Thu, Jun 13, 2013 at 7:17 PM, Steven Ayre <steveayre@gmail.com> wrote:

Dear support: Thre is a function in libs/freetdm/src/ftmod/ftmod_wanpipe/ftmod_wanpipe.c: static FIO_READ_FUNCTION(wanpipe_read) Looks like it can read raw isup message from tdm. But I see nothing with sangoma card debug. Anyone know how to use this function?? windy 2013-06-14 发件人: Oleg Stolyar 发送时间: 2013-06-14 10:36:47 收件人: FreeSWITCH Users Help 抄送: 主题: Re: [Freeswitch-users] Conference and transcoding Thanks Steven, let me be more specific: 2 users both using PCMU codec, neither on mute.
