FS as a centralized Voicemail system
I'm running multiple FS servers with centralized DB for registration and routing tables. Any endpoint can dynamicaly register to any FS server. The FS servers should function as simple routers/switchers without handeling any media tasks like playing sound files or voicemail read/write messages. I would like to setup one FS server to function as a centralize Voicemail system for all users. I've search this mailing list and google arround with no help (all relate to local VM setup). Any advice/tip will be appriciated thanks Assaf -- View this message in context: http://freeswitch-users.2379917.n2.nabble.com/FS-as-a-centralized-Voicemail-... How just routing all VM leaving and VM checking to the same server? Or, alternatively, mount the VM folder as a network disk. -Avi On Tue, Jul 23, 2013 at 11:46 AM, adahary <adahary@gmail.com> wrote:

You could also have all of the VM servers connect to a central SQL database if that's what you would want to try. Not sure if it's a great idea to start with, but hey, there's the option there if you wish. You would need to share the user directory between servers. You could do this by copying the static xml when things change or be more elaborate and use xml_curl to dynamically deliver it on all servers that need access to it. Then you can set up a server sharing the directory and having a dp that only has voicemail in it. Then on all the other servers, instead of calling voicemail app, bridge the call over sip to the VM server for leaving and checking voicemail. Anthony, I'm already using xml_curl for dp in all FS servers. I'll try what you suggest to make any FS server bridge any request to a local unavailable-registered-endpoint to the centralized FS-Voicemail server which its dp just run the voicemail application. *I just did not think about the possibility to bridge a call to FS server which is not owning the target endpoint. thanks Assaf -- View this message in context: http://freeswitch-users.2379917.n2.nabble.com/FS-as-a-centralized-Voicemail-... It works! I'm now successfuly bridging all voicemail calls from severl FS servers to one shared FS voicemail system. BUT, I do have a probelm with ZRTP CRC errors with the following scenario: UA1-->FS1[w/proxy-media] ---> FS_Voicemail. My goal is to maintain an encrypted ZRTP connection between UA1 that is registered to a local FS1 and a remote FS_voicemail that terminate the call with internal service like voicemail. UA1 is a CSimpleSip ZRTP enbaled client. Local FS1 is setup with inbound-proxy-media=true and inbound-zrtp-passthru=true (to pass on the UA ZRTP session). Remote FS_Voicemail is setup with inbound-proxy-media=false (to generate MITM). The result is that the UA1 get bridged to the FS_Voicemail that complains about ZRTP CRC errors. BTW, if UA1 is registered to the FS_voicemail then there is no ZRTP error (clear MITM session). How to avoid the ZRTP CRC errors? -- View this message in context: http://freeswitch-users.2379917.n2.nabble.com/FS-as-a-centralized-Voicemail-... Don't set proxy on a call where you need mitm, it doesn't work. On Jul 25, 2013 5:06 PM, "adahary" <adahary@gmail.com> wrote:

I do know that proxy-media is for end-2-end ZRTP; the opposite of MITM (end-2-node). from your respond I see that I should explain my issue better. To get end-2-end ZRTP between two NATed UA's bridged over two different FS servers: UA1--> FS1[proxy-media] -- Internet -- FS2[proxy-media]--> UA2. What I'm looking for is to have ZRTP session between UA1 that calls through FS1 to his voicemail on FS2 (no UA2). UA1--> FS1 -- Internet -- FS2[voicemail]. How FS1 and FS2 should be setup ? thanks Assaf -- View this message in context: http://freeswitch-users.2379917.n2.nabble.com/FS-as-a-centralized-Voicemail-... I need the proxy-media=true when I want to bridge two UAs with end-2-end ZRTP session (no FS as MITM). The UAs could be on the same FS or on seperate FS server (all set to proxy-media=true). I have few FS servers setup like that. When using the FS as a terminator of a voicemail service (or even as a gateway to SIP provider) then it should use its internal ZRTP session (like the called UA) - that's why I mentioned that it should function as a MITM (so I assume it should be set to proxy-media=false, but it generates ZRTP CRC errors). -- View this message in context: http://freeswitch-users.2379917.n2.nabble.com/FS-as-a-centralized-Voicemail-... 'routing all VM leaving and VM checking to the same server?' That's what I'm looking for...but how? Can I replace the loopback with url of a centralized FS-Voicemail? <action application="bridge" data="loopback/app=voicemail:default $${domain} $1"/> My current solution is to let each FS handle locally the voicemail requests (write/read messages) and keep reporting the stored message path to the centralized DB vociemail table for checking vm. I do not like this solution because it make the regional FS servers busy with media operation. I could move each stored message to the centralized but it is too much operational. Please advice.
