Is @ in username allowed in FreeSWITCH or SIP in general? I've tried to setup FS with such usernames, but my Bria client doesn't allow it.
Hi there, SIP userpart syntax is roughly similar to email; short answer is no. See <http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc3261.txt> -- syntax is in section 25. You CAN use %40, but ->you'd<- need to convert that at the gateway if you want to strip that userpart off and use it as the onward URI (if that's what you have in mind). Look for the 'escaped' syntax in RFC3261 section 25. all the best, Lawrence On 11 Nov 2015, at 11:02, Michael Nielsen <mic.niel84@gmail.com> wrote:

I see, I tried to use this in my LUA: <user id="]] .. string.gsub(u.email, "@", "_") .. [["> and then registering Bria with my_domain.com instead of my@domain.com. Doesn't seem to work :( On Wed, Nov 11, 2015 at 1:04 PM, Lawrence Conroy <lconroy@insensate.co.uk> wrote:

Hi again, as I said, RFC3261 section 25 holds the SIP "rules" on syntax [you will need a strong cup of coffee/tea/...] As for your example, the addr-spec is going to include exactly one @. Shouldn't you be registering my_domain.com@<some-domain.example> rather than trying to register just 'my_domain.com'? Something like sip:12%4034@fs.example.com should be fine. Are you sure what fS thinks you're trying to register? atb, Lawrence On 11 Nov 2015, at 12:40, Michael Nielsen <mic.niel84@gmail.com> wrote:
