sched_hangup update within active call
Hi all, Is it possible during active call with set sched_hangup value change this value to increase\decrease active call duration ? Or maybe there is another elegant solution to manipulate active call duration. Thx
There isn't a way to increase or decrease the time but you can delete the scheduled task with sched_del (find the task id with show tasks) and recreate it with sched_hangup. On 9 June 2015 at 16:01, Vlad Fabi <vaad.fabi@gmail.com> wrote:

you can control your calls from an external application via ESL and do uuid_kill when needed. Then you don't have to rely on timers inside FreeSWITCH. On Tue, Jun 9, 2015 at 10:23 PM, Vlad Fabi <vaad.fabi@gmail.com> wrote:

Not sure 100% but if you connect to FS via ESL (Inbound) you can reschedule call by its uuid using the same sched_hangup application. I don't remember what starting point of this timeout should be used but it worked when I implemented multichannel prepaid. At the moment, I don't have access to the server where it works but can look at some time later. -- Kamil Nigmatullin mob: 7 (707) 2517003 Skype: kamil.nigmatullin
Kamil, I just looked now at the sources explicitly. sched_hangup does not check if there's another hangup task already present. It just adds a new hangup task. So, if the second sched_hangup assigns an event that is nearer in time, then yes, it will be executed earlier. But if you try using sched_hangup to extend the call time, it will not work. well, you're anyway already sending some commands to set or change the scheduler, so why not also stopping the calls from external application. The current API only allows adding and removing tasks -- you can search through the source code yourself. There's no such function as modifying an existing scheduled task. Stanislav, IT IS possible to make call longer by using sched_del and fire agian sched_hangup. This is the peace of code that works for me. var cmd = 'sched_del '+ channel; client.conn.bgapi(cmd, function(event){ cmd = "sched_hangup +"+ timeout + " " + channel; client.conn.bgapi(cmd, function(event){ console.log(event.getBody()); });}); 2015-06-10 15:00 GMT+06:00 Kamil Nigmatullin <kamil.nigmatullin@gmail.com>:

well, you're anyway already sending some commands to set or change the scheduler, so why not also stopping the calls from external application.
The current API only allows adding and removing tasks -- you can search through the source code yourself. There's no such function as modifying an existing scheduled task.

I just looking for simple method supporting active call updates for online multisession\peraccount billing. But as Stanislav mentioned before referring to source codes, there is no other solution except delete and add new task that in general resolve my problem. So, i'll try this way. This is that i'll try.

Why? For whole call life control is good approach, because external application know all information about call state and events. Or all events external application, that receives and fires events to FS - this is my way. Better to use one time connection to execute some commands. Hmm, this takes extra overhead for creation\closing connections. By the way, for outbound socket connection FS use persistent connection or per event connection ? In my view, and with my experiance it is not a good idea to be connected to FS all time.
Why? For whole call life control is good approach, because external application know all information about call state and events. Or all events external application, that receives and fires events to FS - this is my way. I thought this way as well. But when I tried to make stress test for 50cps 300 concurrent, I had some unclosed calls. So then I moved almost code to LUA. And only some commands like originate or reschedules of hangup left on ESL. And I was afraid by how traffic between FS and external program is huge. Better to use one time connection to execute some commands. Hmm, this takes extra overhead for creation\closing connections. By the way, for outbound socket connection FS use persistent connection or per event connection ? I thing this overhead is nothing comparing to all events that FS sends to your external program. By the way, for outbound socket connection FS use persistent connection or per event connection ? It is not by Event. In Inbound Socket I think it is the only connection you have for all calls and events. -- Kamil Nigmatullin Tel: 77272323748 mob: 7 (707) 2517003 Skype: kamil.nigmatullin

So, this mean there is chance that Event Socket Server (if event filters activated) works properly under highload (more than 50cps\300channels). But after Kamil message, i falled in doubts... As i understand, all events fires from FS to Event Socket Server, to minimize sending events (load) we need to filter it on FS side. Maybe my explanation was a little bit incorrect. I mean outbound socket usage. So FS fires events to Event Socket Server. After your remark i checked again wiki, and found ( https://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Event_Socket_Outbound#Events): *By default, the connected socket will not receive any freeswitch events. You can issues following event commands to let freeswitch send events the connected socket.* *Receive only events from this channel. * Similar reasoning, filtering could be done similar as for inbound socket, or it general behavior for inbound\outbound sockets. Why? For whole call life control is good approach, because external application know all information about call state and events. Or
all
events external application, that receives and fires events to FS - this is my way.

Hmm, this takes extra overhead for creation\closing connections. By the way, for outbound socket connection FS use persistent connection or per event connection ? I thing this overhead is nothing comparing to all events that FS sends to your external program.

well, you're anyway already sending some commands to set or change the scheduler, so why not also stopping the calls from external application.
The current API only allows adding and removing tasks -- you can search through the source code yourself. There's no such function as modifying an existing scheduled task.

you can control your calls from an external application via ESL and do uuid_kill when needed. Then you don't have to rely on timers inside FreeSWITCH.

well, you're anyway already sending some commands to set or change the scheduler, so why not also stopping the calls from external application.
The current API only allows adding and removing tasks -- you can search through the source code yourself. There's no such function as modifying an existing scheduled task.

If you think of Monitoring of FS I think Outbound is not what you are looking for. It is more for giving orders from external program than monitoring what is going on there. You will get only that info that you are subscribed for. And also async programing of external program is also not easy. Each time you have to fetch state from database and deside what to do. I think hybrid scheme is simplier and much more easier to implement and debug. When I did that was fs 1.2 and maybe everything has changed now. 2015-06-12 13:28 GMT+06:00 Vlad Fabi <vaad.fabi@gmail.com>:

Hi All, I use the version 1.7 on Debian 8. To record a video using mod_av. Command in the dialplan <action application="record" data="/usr/local/freeswitch/recordings/${strftime(%Y%m%d_%H%M%S)}_${caller_id_number}_${destination_number}.mp4"/> This works fine. The question in the following. How to use the account when calling someone. For example from 1004 in 1006. Or conferences. How to correctly use record? Command "record" I have put before the bridge, or the launch of the conference? After? If I do before starting the conference, the conference itself will not start. If I make the command after, will not start recording. How to use it properly? PS: Bridget works the same way. -- S pozdravem, Ing.Denis Jakovlev mob.tel. 775-415-382
The record app is for a single channel, like you'd use if you were asking someone to record a voice message. They record their message and press a key when they're done. Perhaps you're needing the record_session app? -MC On Fri, Jun 12, 2015 at 4:18 AM, Denis Jakovlev <yadenis@seznam.cz> wrote:

The record app is for a single channel, like you'd use if you were asking someone to record a voice message. They record their message and press a key when they're done. Perhaps you're needing the record_session app?

As i said before, i am looking for a multi session per one account (balance) billing scheme. I think better way is to catch events (call init and call hangup) from FS with Outbound Event Socket Server. Scripts\curl modules are quite good for call origination, but hangup procedure (run some command\action after channel hangup) have some problems, as i remember. So, i think the best solution for me is curl modules for call origination (to get dialplan) and for call hangup catch events, which affect other sessions duration recalculation. But full control with Outbound Event Socket Server is more elegant solution with it higload, stuck calls, anysc code and etc. problems. I think hybrid scheme is simplier and much more easier to implement and debug.
When I did that was fs 1.2 and maybe everything has changed now.

well, you're anyway already sending some commands to set or change
the
scheduler, so why not also stopping the calls from external application.
The current API only allows adding and removing tasks -- you can search through the source code yourself. There's no such function as modifying an existing scheduled task.

If I were you I would do the following: As user hits dialplan you call lua which calls instructions (e.g in JSON) with curl and process this call with sched_hangup. In the same dialplan you create hangup_hook that leads to another lua which bills your call. That's it. Simple and relible. And if you need originate from FS (if you do callback, for example) it is simpler to use API. 2015-06-12 19:51 GMT+06:00 Vlad Fabi <vaad.fabi@gmail.com>:
