Hi, Whats the Jira for this? I am having the same problem and use a lot of lua scripts.. only started happening when I upgraded to latest stable. It's production so in trouble :( Thanks, Nathan -----Original Message----- From: freeswitch-users-bounces@lists.freeswitch.org [mailto:freeswitch-users-bounces@lists.freeswitch.org] On Behalf Of covici@ccs.covici.com Sent: Friday, 26 April 2013 4:43 AM To: FreeSWITCH Users Help Subject: Re: [Freeswitch-users] Freeswitch silent crash echo 1 >/proc/sys/fs/suid_dumpable for any process like that -- I got bit by that for quite a while. If you are running as a non-root user on linux there is a sysctl that should be referenced on the wiki (I can never remember it off the top of my head) you will need to set properly for the non-root user to dump the core file.
Look at the sysctl kernel.core_pattern for the pattern of the file name used.

Freeswitch crashed with this :
freeswitch: pthread_mutex_lock.c:62: __pthread_mutex_lock: Assertion `mutex->__data.__owner == 0' failed.
Should I run freeswitch in gdb to get why this happens ?

See if maybe one of your scripts is calling the exit syscall. This can terminate the whole process. Run FS in a unix screen session and run it from the console so you can see what happens in the stdout.

Hi,
I have a weird issue where once in a while (apparently randomly) freeswitch crashes silently (that is I don't see any mention of freeswitch having sgfaulted in the output of dmesg and the logs aren't helpgul either).
The version of freeswitch is the latest 1.2 stable branch from git packaged by myself for ubuntu.
The OS is Ubuntu 12.04 with the latest 3.2.0-39-generic #62-Ubuntu kernel.
I have 2 servers and both randomly crash in the same way so I ruled out a hardware issue.
Our whole call processing is done in LUA but the crash occurs with no call in progress.
I know it's not a lot to work with but if you have pointers on how to get more information about what happens I'd be happy to try it out.

I have this problem too. There are several similarity here. There is no core dump even with suid_dumpable to 1 and other suggestions on the wiki, e.g. ulimit, change directory to /tmp in FS start script. Using ubuntu latest 12.04, running as non-root, lua to generate dialplan and control routing. The most troubling/headache is that there is no core dump when crash. I understand that there is no much to do without it... Any suggestion is appreciated! On Fri, Apr 26, 2013 at 3:44 AM, Antoine Reversat <antoine@fibrenoire.ca>wrote:
