Guys I would like to offer some possible assistance this project. As the original softswitch patents back in 1997 which I sold to Level 3, I now run the VoiceOne/VoIP Inc network and technology services. I would like to offer the following to help assist all the developers of this worthwhile project: Mirror Site for Development, Source code, and whatever Web Hosting of the site or mirror of it SIP, H323, SS7, MGCP, T1/PRI, etc 1 or 2 Development/Test Servers Input from my/our knowledge of pretty much all of the IP And telecom protocols, signaling, requirements etc Basically a home, and a location which can provide all the various necessary technical pieces which would allow live, real world development. Not sure who is the person to be contacting which is pretty much the maintainer of the project, but I think this would go a long way into providing faster realtime development and testing. As you may/may not be aware, we run our own softswitches and private networking. Take a look at www.voiceone.com, www.click4me.net, www.voipinc.com to get an idea. Additionally next week you will see major releases for us integrating yahoo, msn, gtalk voice into our IP backbone (all converted pretty much to SIP). So the we can help I think in various areas. Of major interest is the provisioning, OSS system, and routing systems. In any case, let me know who to speak too about this, and if it is of interest. Hi, I just wanted to point out I am quite impressed at the professionl level of your language discussion on the list. I was cringing when it first came up and reached for my fire extinguisher but nobody got out of hand at all. I guess I still have shell-shock from my tour in Asterisk land. Maybe we can ask for non-english posts to provide a hint in the Subject like "[chineese]" then we can filter them and insert hyperlinks at the top of the body to a cgi that can translate the message into every language we can. like From: freeswitch-users@lists.freeswitch.org Subject: [chineese-trad] Freeswitch 是偉大的! translate at: http://example.freeswitch.org/translate?email=xyz Freeswitch 是偉大的。我希望捐贈金錢對項目。 dunno just brainstorming.
Hi List, I Am new to FreeSwitch and a bit lost because of no docmentation ... is there a module for performing Full AAA (radius will be very good, but any other will be ok also) on SIP Calls? i would like to know if i can use FreeSwitch for a prepaid paltform. also, can i use G723 or G729 when doing SIP to SIP calls (without any interaction with FreeSwitch IVR which will probably require trans-coding) Thanks. Nitzan.
Shalom Nitzan, Documentation is always the bane of any project is it not? *grin* There has been a call out to get some folks writing some good docs, so we'll see what happens. In the meantime, there is currently no radius support yet in Freeswitch, though it would be easy to incorporate as a module. There has been some talk about real time CDRs and billing, which would fall right into the scope of a calling card application, but we are still needing to iron out the users and authentication features before we proceed on that. There are other ways you could do prepaid, but I would think it would probably be more of a stopgap measure than a proper solution. And to the best of my knowledge, there is no issue in doing passthru audio. The licensing issues for codecs is encountered when you need to transcode. Yossi, Freeswitch, has made tremendous progress and all of us are very optimistic and supportive of FreeSwitch. To you point, Radius/Diameter is a must.... My .02 cents -A Yossi Neiman wrote:

That paypal button on the site helps with development also (it helps feed the developers). ;) /b On Aug 31, 2006, at 11:17 AM, Amon Ghupta wrote:
