Hello, Thought I'd share this with you all... So there I was, quietly enjoying myself on theregister, when I stumbled upon what can only be described, as a complete and utter fail. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/04/30/bt_trolling_sip_in_battle_with_googl... Responses so far? <@SwK> lololol * foxx2 facepalm <coppice> BT come up with a regular stream of patents with no basis in reality <mcrane> they shouldn't be able to patent a standard protocol I'm fairly sure my immediate response would be to print out 50 copies of [1] and send it via recorded delivery. It would be interesting to hear from anyone who has already been contacted by BT about this, and how they plan to deal with it. I've had enough of the internet for one day ;/ Cal [1] http://25.media.tumblr.com/d0efdb79f57815eff2105f65da4f4df7/tumblr_mh0qugfwZ...

Does that mean they're going to start trolling IPEX customers? Seems a little counter-productive considering the cost of getting IPEX in the first place... On 30 April 2013 04:57, Gabriel Gunderson <gabe@gundy.org> wrote:

Steve, That may indeed be accurate, but I did some poking of my own on a random selection of 10 of the patents, and my thoughts are similar to Mike J's - it appears as nothing more than the shotgun approach with vaguely - at best - applicable patents and a whole bunch of saber rattling. The real question is, who are the targets of BT, and whether there is any real liability for any of us. Just like with the old SCO "linux licensing" scam, at the moment I'd be just as inclined to ignore threats from BT as I would from SCO. -Yossi On 04/30/2013 11:57 AM, Steve Underwood wrote:

It would be interesting to hear from anyone who has already been contacted by BT about this, and how they plan to deal with it.

I'm fairly sure my immediate response would be to print out 50 copies of [1] and send it via recorded delivery.
It would be interesting to hear from anyone who has already been contacted by BT about this, and how they plan to deal with it.
I've had enough of the internet for one day ;/
